Adam Shaffer

Vice President, International Trade and Global Affairs, Recycled Materials Association

Adam Shaffer serves as Vice President of International Trade and Global Affairs at the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA), where he oversees federal and international advocacy efforts, while also managing the organization’s global activities. He serves on several advisory committees, including the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC) and the Global Counsellors on Sustainable Materials group. Mr. Shaffer joined ReMA (then ISRI) in early 2023 from the American Iron and Steel Institute, where he led trade policy advocacy for U.S. steelmakers. He holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP), with a focus on international economic policy, from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in international studies from American University.
